Following the explosion that was the viral story about childcare fraud in Minneapolis, I had several thoughts:
🔷Why didn’t the local news stories about this from earlier this year get near as much attention?
🔷If there is political bribery connected to this fraud, why will it be difficult to charge?
🔷What does all this indicate about the challenges our state (and all governments) face trying to operate in this new world we’re in?

Hi Brandon-thanks for the follow up. If a story is important, it should be followed up on, relentlessly, followed up on with politicians specially. The biggest problem with this story is is appears to have been going on for 7 years, that’s a really long time for a story to be low-balled. Perhaps we have reached a point in the USA when it’s impossible for government to honestly care for those most in need, because federal funds are too easily stolen. It may well be time for caring for others should return to the local sphere, i.e. churches, philanthropists, private foundations.
