Being a boomer myself , I have become horrified at the level unfortunately many I know are deeply indoctrinated still with it’s the left or the right’s fault we are in this mess! I too up until 2020 was a MAGA supporter from 2016- 2024. Then came October 7th…and what really occurs in the Middle East ….scenes that I saw , and never could or should ever unsee😭🤬Not to mention the ongoing madness going on in the Ukraine and the unbelievable amount of casualties occurring daily….unreported like the rest of forever wars that this administration promised to stop…but has increased three fold. Wish I had your positive attitude at present .
In a way--despite all the power and momentum of this war machine--they are a sort of paper tiger because their strength isn't in truth or ethics. They do unethical things and rely on obfuscation and people's desire to not believe things are as bad as you and I know they are. (I mean, who would want to accept that?)
I've been going back and forth a bit with some war- and Israel-supporting conservatives on Facebook. What I discovered is that their whole argument boils down to "You're wrong, Brandon." That's all they have, which is why I refer to that movement as a paper tiger. Once enough people accept some big truths, there's no going back (like you say, unable to unsee it), and some changes will take place, if just incrementally--though perhaps monumentally.
