- One will take a rider wherever he/she wishes to go with the promise of a new level of safety and efficiency.
- The other was filled with soldiers sitting in the back, ready to enforce the law at the barrel of a gun.
One might think these are signs of a society splitting into opposite directions. But I believe they work in tandem: As technology disrupts our societal operating systems, more enforcement is deployed to try to keep things under control.
It’s also why I’m writing this from the island of Roatan, Honduras. I arrived yesterday to attend Infinita City’s Liberty Acceleration Summit, located at the Prospera autonomous zone. Here, I’ll learn about and discuss the many novel forms of governance and societies in development—to better work with the world we’re now in.
But though big ideas will bounce around this week, one can’t forget the basics—in this case, education and service. While here on Roatan, I’m also visiting the small school we sponsor and delivering some contributions they can use for supplies.
