Dear Readers, especially my fellow Minnesotans:
Tired of the drama, struggle, and negative attention on our state, I felt some encouragement when talking to Tom McKee, candidate for Minnesota House.
It wasn’t his positions.
We actually didn’t talk much about that, which was nice. We didn’t have to. His experience as mayor of a growing community revealed his approach to policy and action.
But nor was it this assurance that a capable person was running for state office.
Rather, it was this: This year’s election offers an unusually high amount of turnover in Minnesota.
Tom shared that scores of new Minnesota House and Senate members will be joined by a new Governor, potentially a new Attorney General, and some big federal offices as well. When he laid it out like that, I realized this could be just be the opportunity our state needs.
So, we talk about his campaign, his role as mayor, and this unique opportunity for Minnesota to start a new chapter.
