Rhiannon (dance and tape, 18'00) - 1991, written for Fiona MacLeod, premiered at Charles Cryer Theatre (Carshalton). First prize-winner in the Concours Internationale at Bourges, France (1993, electro-acoustic and dance category). Released on a Chant du Monde CD in 1999.

in sunlight II: September Song (soprano, tape and live electronics, 9'05) - 1992, written for Steve Halfyard. SPNM shortlisted. Prize-winner in the Concours Internationale at Bourges (1993, Résidence category). Performed at 1993 International Computer Music Conference and broadcast on Japanese Radio. Released on a Jasrac compact disc. Performed on South Bank by Fiona Baines and broadcast on Radio 3 (1993). Released on an NMC/ Sonic Arts Network CD (1996).

Seven Waves (flute and tape, 13'00) - 1993, written for John Wesley-Barker. Performed with BEAST as part of the rumours series at the Midlands Arts Centre (Birmingham) and at Edinburgh University. Won third prize in the mixed category of the 1994 Concorso Luigi Russolo (Italy).

to the last syllable (four voices and tape, 15'20) - 1993, commissioned by Sonic Arts Network, performed on South Bank, then toured nationwide. Broadcast on Radio 3. Selected by the BBC for presentation at the International Rostrum on ElectroAcoustic Music, 1994. Revised version (1997) performed by Electric Phoenix at IRCAM and by Singcircle at the Dartington International Summer School in 1997.

Songlines (computer animation, video and tape, 14'20) - 1994, commissioned by the International Symposium on Electronic Art and Silicon Graphics Ltd. Performed at ISEA 94 (Helsinki), CREAT (St. Petersburg), Imagina (Paris), Sonic Arts Network PLUGGED! (London, South Bank) and the 1995 ICMC in Banff, Canada. Music won second prize in the programme music category at Bourges in 1994, and was released on a Chant du Monde CD. It also won first prize in the Concorso Luigi Russolo in 1995, and was released on a CD by the Fondazione Russolo-Pratella. Broadcast on BBC Radio 3 (1995).

nightfalling III: Burnt Out (piano, percussion and tape, 14'10) - 1995, commissioned by BBC Radio 3, performed by Philip Mead and Simon Limbrick in the Music Live 95 festival in Birmingham in May '95, and broadcast. Also performed at the Electronic Art Festival in Stockholm in September '95, and broadcast on Swedish Radio. Selected by the BBC for presentation at the International Rostrum on Electro-Acoustic Music, 1996. Performed at the 1998 ICMC in Michigan. Toured in the UK in 1999 by York-based ensemble Black Hair.

WEB: Memories of Flight (tape, 22'15) - 1995, commissioned by BBC Radio 3 for the BEAST WEB installation in the Bond Gallery, Birmingham, in the Music Live 95 festival. Broadcast as part of a composite piece (with other BEAST composers) on Radio 3. The eight composers and artists concerned also featured in a documentary programme concerning the project, also broadcast on Radio 3.

Into the Blue (tape, 12'05) - 1995, commissioned by the Schweizerisches Zentrum für Computermusik (Zürich). Premiered 04/12/95 Music Academy, Zürich. Performed in the Stockholm Electronic Music Festival 1996. Selected for ISEA '96 (Rotterdam) and released on the ISEA '96 CD-ROM.

GoldGlow (tape, 20'00) - 1995, commissioned by the Groupe de Musique Expérimentale de Bourges (France). Premiered 22/06/96 at the Palais Jaques Coeur, Bourges. Performed at the 1996 ICMC in Hong-Kong. Received an honourable mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 1997. Broadcast as part of the 1998 NOW festival.

vox mecanix (tape, 10'00) - 1996. Premiered 02/07/96 at the Dartington International Summer School. Received a mention at Bourges, 1997. Performed at BEAST rumours... at the Midlands Arts Centre, April 1997. Broadcast as part of the 1998 NOW festival in Nottingham. To be released on a Sargasso CD in 2001.

Zoetrope (video and sound, 21'00) - 1998. Commissioned by BEAST/West Midlands Arts for premiere at the Midlands Arts Centre in April 1998. Subsequent performances in Pandaemonium, Lux Centre, London; the Montréal Festival of Film and New Media; Ars Electronica; the 1998 International Computer Music Festival in Kobe, Japan; COMTECart, Dresden;Transmediale, Berlin; The Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham; the New Media Centre, Huddersfield, England; The CBSO centre, Birmingham (Towards the Millennium); the Virginia Film Festival, USA; and the New York Film Festival. Incorporated into the Sonic Circuits touring programme (US). Won first prize in the 1998 COMTECart competition, second prize in Transmediale 1999, and an honourable mention at Ars Electronica 98. Under distribution by London Electronic Arts.

Nekyia (multi-media music theatre, 33'00) - 1999; a collaboration with writer Alaric Sumner. Commissioned by the Shawford Mill Theatre (Bath) for performance in September 1999. Development supported by the Arts Council of England (research and development grant). Subsequent performances at Champlibre, Montreal; Schouwberg, Rotterdam; Sonic Arts Series, Norwich; and The Nunnery, London.
