A
particular feature of Joseph's work is collaboration with other artists,
working across a variety of disciplines. He regularly works with other
musicians (composers and performers) from classical performers such
as the BBC National Orchestra
of Wales to free-Jazz and electroacoustic musicians such as Paul
Dunmall, Keith Tippett and Alistair MacDonald.
Many of his collaborative projects have been with dancers and choreographers.
Recently he has worked with Shobana Jeyasingh,
and has taken part in a number of large-scale collaborative projects
such as the Software for Dancers
project. Since 1998 he has been a regular participant in interdisciplinary
projects with shinkansen. He has recently
completed projects with Indian choreographer Jayachandran
Palazhy and Canadian choreographer André Gingras.
Other recent collaborations have been with writer Alaric
Sumner, and artists Helena
Goldwater and Sarah Rubidge. Joseph is also regularly working in a multimedia performance
group, Socket, and has recently completed a silent film score - Aelita Queen of Mars - with Andy Keep and Barry Moon. His most recent project has been to establish a new laptop jam night in Bristol, Random Function.
