Since
1998, Joseph has been collaborating with Alistair MacDonald as an electroacoustic
improvisation duo, principally working with free-jazz musicians. Alistair
performs as an 'electroacoustic DJ', mixing intricate architectural
textures from multiple pre-prepared CDs while Joseph uses live sampling
techniques (see Live Sampling) to respond in a more immediate way to
the instrumental performers.
